Elon Musk Seeks To Control The Progress of Artificial Intelligence

The concept of artificial intelligence is no doubt impressive but has not advanced as much as some would like. Today computers are only able to do what we tell them to do.

But the fact that a computer can think and react persons and is something very different, and certainly could greatly simplify our lives.

Of course, there are those who fear the advance of artificial technology, whose potential consequences have been quite clear thanks to films like Terminator.

Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla was known and SpaceX, recently announced that it has joined forces with several partners and together have founded a non-profit organization known as OpenAI.

In this project, they are also participating Y Combinator CEO Sam Altman, co-founder of PayPal, Peter Thiel, co-founder of YC, Jessica Livingston, among others.

The new organization has stated that, given the surprising history of artificial intelligence, it is difficult to predict exactly when it will reach a level of human thought, and when I do it will be important to have an institution that can guarantee an overall well above their own interests.

Musk in the past has talked about the potential dangers of the progress of AI, and also about how he wants to avoid a future in which the machines are rebelling against humans.

To that end, the employer previously has made donations to certain institutions, but this time decided to take matters into more personal way through OpenAI.

As we have seen, Musk is not alone in this crusade, it has many associated with him and has even received the support of known genius Stephen Hawking.
