Google Have New Energy Support For 14 The data center
Google has recently established itself as one of the environmentally friendly company. The company has just switched the energy source data center in Alabama, USA, with renewable energy.
The move was cited as the beginning for Google to use renewable energy in 14 data centers hers. To support it, Google has bought 842 megawatts of renewable energy from three different regions.
Citing information from the pages of Wired, Sunday (06/12/2015), Google has purchased energy from solar power plants belonging to Duke Energy in North Carolina, United States. In addition, there is also an electric-powered energy in Vasternorrland County, Sweden. And lastly, is a solar power plant in Chile.
Through this cooperation means that 37 percent of the energy source to a Google data center comes from renewable energy. According to the plan, each of the cooperation may be extended to 10 to 20 years into the future.
On the other hand, Google is also known to have invested approximately US $ 2.5 billion in companies and projects that want to produce more energy from renewable resources, such as wind, geothermal, and solar power.
For your information, Google is not the first company to use traditional renewable energy sources to sustain its activities. One company that has done this is Apple.
The company is now led by Tim Cook is reportedly already has offices, data centers, and stores that have been supported renewable energy sources.
Previously, Apple is also known to have updated its partner factories in China. The change was made to reduce the carbon emissions produced by the plant.
