The Latest Technology From Hitachi Maxell Increase Battery Capacity

Hitachi Maxell reportedly developed a technology called ULSiON for its new lithium-ion batteries. This technology is claimed to increase the battery capacity without increasing the thickness of the portable device.

Because ULSiON technology, the new battery is also called armed with a capacity doubled. This technology utilizes a mixture of ingredients that bind to the surface of a layer of silicon-based carbon as the negative electrode of the battery.

Silicon-based negative electrode layer generally tends to grow and shrink, causing the battery to swell. But Hitachi calls the new technology that uses prime quality silicon particles can reduce that risk significantly.

This technology also allows Hitachi created a battery with a thin and small dimensions without sacrificing capacity. Tech battery ULSiON also assessed according to the wearable device that was popular at this time.

Hitachi hopes Li-ion battery technology ULSiON may be adopted by the compact design, such as wearable devices. Hitachi also expects demand for this technology will be high, given space and the long battery life be a special factor in a device.

Hitachi's latest tech battery is reported to be exhibited at the event Wearable Expo, in Japan on 13-15 January 2016.
