Activision Will Build ESPN Dedicated To eSports
Theo Bobby Kotick, president and CEO of Activision Blizzard, the company wants to bring eSports to the traditional channels. Accordingly, they will construct an analog TV channel ESPN, with the sole topic eSports. That will help many people know about and access to eSports, and bring fame and income for professional gamers.
eSports division director of Activision gave feedback on concern about Activision will only promote their games, like Call of Duty or Destiny. Accordingly, MLG will work with traditional partners and other developers in the market. Activision acquired the MLG will bring many benefits to the eSports world in general, not limited to its game.
This is a very ambitious goal. But to attract audiences in the eSports game instead of the traditional sports, Activision and eSports community will be very much to do.
Major League Gaming (MLG) is the professional eSports organization was founded in 2002 by Sundance DiGiovanni and Mike Sepso. MLG has held numerous official eSports tournament in the US and Canada within 14 years. They also engaged in the production of television content and game developers.
