Apple Develops Power Saving Screen for iPhone and iPad

Apple reportedly is developing display technologies in order to reduce dependence on third-party suppliers, such as Samsung and Sharp. The development also aims to increase the battery life of the product.

Techcrunch cites Bloomberg, Tuesday, December 15, 2015, reported that the United States has opened its own secret facilities in Taiwan are working on a screen for iPhone, iPad, and other devices. The company also advertises for a variety of positions at the factory.

Reported "at least 50 engineers" is working on advanced display technology for various products, including the iPhone and iPad. The company pulled workers from Taiwanese company AU Optronics display and Qualcomm to develop a new screen.

That could be good news for customers who are concerned about the battery life of their devices. Screens tend to use large amounts of power, but the source of the new facility Apple reportedly said that Apple is working to create a screen that is "thinner, lighter, lighter, and more energy-efficient". This means reducing the power consumption of the battery.

The sources claimed Apple is trying to switch to organic LEDs (OLED) which massively can save power consumption. Nevertheless, OLED screens harder and more expensive to produce.
