Google Delete Java From Android

Google Java Android

Google has recently confirmed that they will discontinue the use of application programming interfaces (APIs) Java in Android. This they did in order to avoid legal problems with the patent owner of Java, which Oracle.

Instead, Google will use the API of OpenJDK on Android N, which is an open-source version of the Java Development Kit, which is also owned by Oracle, but can be used freely.

Oracle previously sued Google for using Java APIs without permission. The suit was first filed in 2010, but at that time, Google argued that the use of the API can not be categorized as patent infringement, because of its role in the development of software.

The demand was actual won by Google in 2012, but at a higher stage, the court annulled the decision and return it to the examination.

If the court went on to win the Oracle, then Google will be exposed to a huge fine, because all Android devices from the beginning until Marshmallow still using the Java API, as reported by Phone Arena, on Wednesday.
