Half of Americans Would Got 'Smart Home' At The End of 2016

About 45 percent of Americans will have a smart home technology or to invest in this technology by the end of 2016. That is expressed survey of a real estate brokerage firm, Coldwell Banker, which quoted from Venture Beat, last Monday.

Coldwell Banker surveyed more than 4,000 Americans before CES 2016 event begins, which is a major technology exhibition held in Las Vegas this week. The survey found, not just a technology enthusiast who will adopt the smart home technology.

In fact, 36 percent of them are planning to adopt such devices in 2016 said they did not consider themselves as early adopters of this technology.

The survey also found that 54 percent of homeowners in the market that will sell his house, to buy or install smart home products so that homes are selling faster. Of that group, 65 percent of them said to be willing to pay $ 1,500 or more.

"Nearly five million existing homes currently sold in the United States in 2014, which represents a major opportunity for manufacturers of the smart home. We aim to be the link between producers, buyers and sellers of houses. As this study is one of our first step of many steps to achieve these objectives, "said Sean Blankenship, director of marketing for Coldwell Banker, in a statement.

Most popular smart home technology is currently being installed in the area of 'smart entertainment', with devices such as televisions and smart speaker system, which already owned 44 percent of owners of smart home technology. Approximately 31 percent of them also have smart security, and 30 percent have a smart temperature control.

Not only that, the report explained that 63 percent of respondents want their security (locks and alarms) to be smart, 63 percent want a thermostat and fan smart, 58 percent want smart lighting, and 56 percent of the rest want safety smart like carbon monoxide detector and nightlight.
