Intel Acquisition Drone Company From Germany

Drone increasingly popular lately, and create a very lucrative business opportunity. Do not want to miss the train, chip giant Intel to take action on the acquisition of a German company drone named Ascending Technologies.

Quoted from the Wall Street Journal, did not give the value of the purchase. Intel said all employees Ascending Technologies totaling 75 people will join them.

Ascending Technologies itself focused on making professional grade drones. Their technology allows the drone can automatically detect and avoid if there is no obstacle in flight. Intel may want to immerse chip technology and cameras they developed on artificial drone Ascending.

In his blog, Ascending stated that their merger with Intel technology allow companies to integrate computing, communications, sensors and cloud are required to make the drone more intelligent and increasingly connected.

Some products Ascending Technologies is now using RealSense 3D camera made by Intel. They sell their products, which can be used for remote visual inspection location or create a 3D map, in the company and researchers.

Automatic avoidance system developed Ascending could prevent the drone hit a tree, or perhaps airplanes. This is important because it could endanger assessed drone aircraft. According to research Bard College in the United States, there were 241 cases of drone flew too close to the plane in the last two years.
