New Rules Twitter Ban Hate Speech

New Rules Twitter Ban Hate Speech

Twitter is known to experience some pretty tough events associated with the misuse and abuse of the microblogging site, but recently the company has made some steps to minimize it.

Excerpted from The Next Web, Friday (01/01/2015) revised official rules Twitter, using clearer language to emphasize that the company "will not tolerate behavior that is intended to harass, intimidate, or use fear to silence the voices of other users".

Revision of these rules, it can be deduced that Twitter has created a new section just for rude behavior, which previously equated as the 'abuse and spam'.

There is also a shift in style that is more friendly, which reflects the philosophy clearer. For example, the opening sentence of the "abuse and spam" old:

"Twitter strives to protect its users from abuse and spam. User misuse and abuse is not tolerated on Twitter.com technical, and can lead to permanent suspension. Each account that is involved in the activities specified below may be subject to permanent suspension."

And the following new opening line.

"We believe in freedom of expression and the courage to speak must be supported, but it was a bit mean as the underlying philosophy if voice silenced because people are afraid to talk. In order to ensure that people feel safe to express their opinions and beliefs are diverse, we do not tolerate behavior that goes beyond the limits of abuse, including behavior that harass, intimidate, or use fear to silence the voices of other users.
Each account and related accounts involved in the activities specified below may be temporarily locked and / or subject to permanent suspension."

And this subsection may be explicitly related to the so-called hateful behavior. The rules of the old Twitter has no specific language of hatred against anything, so this is a big step forward.

"Hateful behavior: You may not promote violence against or directly attacking or threatening others on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religion, age, disability, or illness. We also do not allow account whose sole purpose is inciting harm against others on the basis of these categories."
